特别的演出

Dear Students,
Here is the homework for this week:
1. Review the words of L12.2
2. Answer the questions on my Voicethread. Click on my picture on the left to hear the questions.
3. Study the Most Frequently used Chinese characters (4) for a text next week. Please make sure you know how to write the characters as well as how to read them.
4.  Watch the clip from a movie by Charlie Chaplin, just for fun. You are welcome to leave me a comment  in Chinese at the bottom of the post.

I'm glad that quite a few of you have made an effort to spend some time studying Chinese before Thursday last week. Several of you tried on Thursday after my calls. I hope this week no one will need a reminder from me.
I listened to all the recordings you submitted through Voicethread. I can tell that you have tried very hard to do this assignment and you all did a great job. Even though some didn't get them all correct, you've at least started talking Chinese at home! 
In the class today, everyone has got our new textbook and the workbooks. They are $10. The CD would cost $6, but Principal Xu has made free copies for everybody.  So please make full use of it, as it includes extra activities as welll as the recordings of our texts.

我妈妈今天请客，她请了很多人，她请了很多我认识的人。我爸爸和小舅妈做了很多好吃的饭，有鸡腿，米饭，饺子，鸭子，烤肉，水煮鱼，和很多东西。客人们跟我父母说话，我跟我朋友们玩各种各样的游戏，还吃了好吃的饭，吃完我们就继续玩儿。一直到很晚，他们才跟父母一起回家，然后我就睡觉啦。今天真开心!

Dear Students,

Welcome to the new semester of Chinese studying.

In the beginning, we will review the characters we have learned so far, as reviewing is a very important part of our studying.

For homework this week, study with the following character set. We will have a quiz on this next class, and you will be required to write the characters instead of Pinyin! I hope everybody will get an A!

去年暑假，我和我姥姥、姥爷回中国太原，认识了很多新朋友。我们每天晚上在公园里玩儿。

有一天, 他们教了我一个游戏，就是三国杀。三国杀里的人物是中国历史上的人。主要的三个就是孙权，曹操和刘备。在三国杀里，有血卡、身份卡、游戏卡和角色卡。一个人要是没有血了，他就死了，这一盘就不能玩儿了。一个人有三到五滴血。身份卡有五种, 主公 、忠臣、反贼和内奸。主公杀死所有的反贼就胜了。忠臣帮主公杀死反贼就胜了。反贼杀死主公就胜了。内奸要杀忠臣, 然后帮主公杀死反贼,  最后杀死主公才胜了。

你要玩儿这个游戏的话，得好好思考！

大卫八岁。
大卫家从 美国明尼苏达州搬到中国南京。大卫的爸爸在南京工作。大卫刚到中国不会用筷子， 也不会说汉语， 也没有朋友。
大卫去南京长江路小学上学了。第一天上学他很紧张。学校和美国学校不一样， 操场上玩具也不同，同学都说中文。 他很伤心，想美国学校和朋友。
过了两个月， 大卫还是觉得不习惯说中文。有一天， 妈妈让他去买一袋米，他在商店里想了半天， 终于说：“你有米饭吗？”
他把米饭买回了家， 妈妈很高兴，夸奖大卫能说中文了。从此， 大卫的中文越说越好， 在学校里也交了很多朋友。 他开始喜欢中国了。
